De Gea signs new deal with Man United

The Spain goal­keeper was ex­pected to move to Real Madrid this sum­mer but, fol­low­ing the bizarre break­down of his trans­fer, has now signed fresh terms at Old Traf­ford.

David de Gea has signed a new four-year con­tract with Manch­ester United, with the op­tion to ex­tend for a fur­ther year.

The 24-year-old Spain in­ter­na­tional, who ar­rived from Atletico Madrid in 2011 was ex­pected to seal a re­turn move to La Liga to join ri­val Real Madrid this sum­mer.

How­ever, fol­low­ing the move col­laps­ing on trans­fer dead­line day due to doc­u­ments ar­riv­ing late, De Gea has opted to sign fresh terms at the Premier League club.
