UK, South Korean are ready to continue assisting Peshmerga
Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani today met with General Tom Beckett, UK’s senior defence advisor of the Middle East at the Ministry of Defence.
President Barzani and General Beckett discussed the ongoing efforts to defeat ISIS terrorists, including preparations to retake the city of Mosul. They also discussed logistical and training needs of the Peshmerga forces.
President Barzani thanked the UK and other coalition members for their support of the Peshmerga. General Beckett, for his part, lauded the role of the Peshmerga forces and described them as admirable. He added that the UK stands ready to continue assisting them.
On October 30, Barzani also received the Korean ambassador to Iraq, Sung Wong Chu, to discuss the Iraqi and Kurdistan's political and security conditions. The Ambassador reiterated his country's readiness to assist Kurdistan, especially the Peshmarga.
