Parties agree to keep Barzani president till 2017

Mohammed Haji Mahmoud, leader of the Kurdistan Socialist Democratic Party, says all parties have agreed that Massoud Barzani will remain Kurdistan’s President till 2017.

Mahmoud says the four-parties have two options, but they should have one united voice and opinion and submit it to Kurdistan Democratic Party.

“All problems are solved, …, and what the parties say now should be said after 2017,” KSDP leader argued. “Maybe the parties feel ashamed of saying that Barzani should remain in his position.”

Mahmoud said that the situation is going worse and that the political parties need to think of a solution.

“Our people do not deserve that we go from a meeting to another without a result and an explanation to people about what is happening inside the meeting halls.

Talking about the war against Islamic State terrorist organization, Mahmoud says ISIS is retreating since March and Peshmarga forces are advancing. Recent land regains by Peshmarga is a proof of that. “We have regained 11 villages once, then another 12 villages and another 19 villages.”

He added that they have regained 40% of Kurdistan’s soil from ISIS and now only 10% of Kurdish lands is still under ISIS control.

“With God’s help we will free these lands soon and will not allow one centimeter of Kurdistan’s soil to stay under the control of ISIS or any other invaders.”
