Hashd al-Shaabi and Shiites conspire against Kurds and Sunnis

The Member in the Defense Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Shakhawan Abdullah, reveals that the Shiites in cooperation with the Hashd al-Shaabi are conspiring against the Kurds and the Sunnis.

"The Shiites are preventing Sunni refugees and displaced people to return to their hometowns. Most of the displaced people are based in Kirkuk which might make threat on the demography of the area in the future," said Abdullah.

Abdullah thinks that the Shiites are targeting both the Sunnis and Kurds at the same time by this plan as they prevent the Sunnis from going back to their homes. They also want to create problems between Kurds and Sunnis in Kirkuk.

"The Sunnis have raised their voices inside the Parliament against the conspiracy. We need as Kurds to raise our voices too. We should not let Hashd al-Shaabi achieve their purposes," he noted.

Whenever their hometowns liberated Abdullah said, the displaced people need to be asked to go back to where they came from.

Hashd al-Shaabi is an Iraqi state-sponsored umbrella organization composed of some 40, 000 almost exclusively Shiite militias. It was formed for deployment against the IS. The organization was formed by uniting existing militias under the "People's Mobilization Committee" of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior in June 2014.
