Mirani: KDP always tries to maintain unity of Kurds

Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) politburo secretary Fazil Mirani calls for calming down the media campaign for the sake of creating a suitable situation for solving the political issues.

Mirani met with Jordanian General Consul in Erbil last week in Erbil and discussed the political process in Kurdistan region with him.

He also urged for the region’s five major po- litical parties to return to negotiations, without preconditions. He said crises facing the Kurdistan Region should be handled responsibly, as a weeks-long dispute among parties has paralyzed institutions, including the Kurdistan Parliament.

“The KDP always tries to maintain the unity of Kurds,” Mirani said. “KDP believes the issues will be tackled with dialogue and understanding.”

“The meetings should also resume because the KDP always considers the Kurdistan Region’s interests above everything else,” he further stated.

Mirani also urged KDP and Change Movement affiliated media outlets to end their quarrel, in order to deescalate the situation.
