Kurdish athlete wins Finnish fitness championship
A young Kurdish athlete has recently won the Finnish fitness championship for 2015 to attract international media’s attention to his progress at fast pace.
Sherko Eliassi, 27, was born in an Iranian Kurdish family in Erbil. He moved to Finland in 2011, he started practicing fitness. Eliassi said that he had been wrestling before he immigrated to Europe. “And, of course, that helped me to progress in fitness sooner,” he added.
Eliassi previously grabbed several victories, including the EU Spring Fitness Classic, Gala Fitness Sport, Scandinavian and several other Championships across the EU. He is now hopeful to win the world championship and the world cup in the near future.
