Kur­dish ath­lete wins Fin­nish fit­ness cham­pi­onship

A young Kur­dish ath­lete has re­cently won the Fin­nish fit­ness cham­pi­onship for 2015 to at­tract in­ter­na­tional me­dia’s at­ten­tion to his progress at fast pace.

Sherko Eliassi, 27, was born in an Ira­nian Kur­dish fam­ily in Er­bil. He moved to Fin­land in 2011, he started prac­tic­ing fit­ness. Eliassi said that he had been wrestling be­fore he im­mi­grated to Europe. “And, of course, that helped me to progress in fit­ness sooner,” he added.

Eliassi pre­vi­ously grabbed sev­eral vic­to­ries, in­clud­ing the EU Spring Fit­ness Clas­sic, Gala Fit­ness Sport, Scan­di­na­vian and sev­eral other Cham­pi­onships across the EU. He is now hope­ful to win the world cham­pi­onship and the world cup in the near fu­ture.
