The Peshmerga forces last night repelled an attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) militants in southern Kirkuk province.

A Peshmerga commander reported that IS militants carried out an attack against the Peshmerga forces on the Daquq frontline, southwest of Kirkuk, at around 10:00 pm last night, trying to cross the trench near the frontline, but the Peshmerga forces warded off their attack which lasted for nearly two hours.

No casualties were reported on Peshmerga's side, and the damage inflicted to the militants re- mains unknown, he said.

Peshmerga forces also took down two suicide bombers attempting to attack the Peshmerga forces on the Bashiqa frontline in northern Iraq early Wednesday morning, after the attackers disguised themselves as civilians escaping IS.
