Amal Clooney to represent Nadia Murad at the International Criminal Court
Amal Clooney, a barrister at Doughty Street Chambers specializing in international law and human rights law, confirmed the reports that she will legally represent all the Yazidi genocide victims, including the Nobel Prize nominee Nadia Murad, at the International Court of Justice.
Doughty Street Chambers is the largest and most wideranging civil liberties legal practice in the world.
In an interview for Women in the World, Clooney said “How can it be that the most serious crimes known to humanity are being carried out before our eyes but are not being prosecuted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague?”
Clooney is British-Lebanese lawyer, activist, author and the wife of the famous Amer- ican actor George Clooney that represented many famous cases such as Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, in his fight against extradition, the former prime minister of Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, and the Canadian-Egyptian journalist Mohamed Fahmy.
