Hockey Club raises ¤8,000 through an­nual golf out­ing

BRAY HOCKEY club raised in the re­gion of ¤8,000 last Thurs­day at a golf out­ing which took place at Charles­land Golf Course.

Club Trea­surer Fred O’Toole said that this was the sec­ond an­nual event of its kind held by the club, and that they hope to con­tinue do­ing it ev­ery year.

Many of those who took part were mem- bers of the Hockey Club, with mem­bers Fred O’Toole, Peter Os­bourne and Matthew Evens tak­ing first, sec­ond and third place with their re­spec­tive teams.

The day of golf was fol­lowed by din­ner and a prize-giv­ing cer­e­mony in the club house.

Fred said that the club trains in Loreto ev­ery Tues­day and Thurs­day from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. ‘New mem­bers are al­ways wel­come,’ he said, re­mark­ing that with five ladies’ teams and three men’s teams be­gin­ners could be catered for as well as the more ex­pe­ri­enced.

The hockey sea­son starts at the end of Septem­ber and con­tin­ues through March.
