Her­bert Road Youth Cen­tre gets ¤10,000 boost from AIB

BRAY’S new youth cen­tre on the Her­bert Road has been given ¤10,000 by AIB in Bray. The bank ran a com­pe­ti­tion in each of their branch ar­eas where mem­bers of the pub­lic were asked to text vote for where they would like to see the money go lo­cally.

In the case of the Bray branch the win­ner re­ceiv­ing most votes was the Holy Redeemer Youth Cen­tre.

Chair­man of the Youth Cen­tre’s Fundrais­ing Com­mit- tee John Ryan said that all the mem­bers of the Youth Cen­tre Com­mit­tee were ab­so­lutely de­lighted that the peo­ple of Bray had voted for the Cen­tre and thanked AIB for do­nat­ing the money, which will be used to kit out the cen­tre.

The Youth Cen­tre com­mit­tee are cur­rently in the process of re­cruit­ing a Youth Of­fi­cer/Youth Cen­tre Man­ager who will be re­spon­si­ble for the suc­cess­ful run­ning of the fa­cil­ity.

‘We are in­ter­view­ing for the role and we are work­ing hard to make sure we get the per­fect can­di­date who can make this a real suc­cess,’ said Shay Hin­ney of the man­age­ment com­mit­tee.

Shay added that it is hope the cen­tre will be open for busi­ness within the next few weeks.

Shay Hin­ney and Cllr. John Ryan of the Holy Redeemer Youth Cen­tre ac­cept a cheque for ¤10,000 from Emer Hand and Erin Wy­ley from the AIB branch in Bray.
