‘Speed networking’ to try give businesses a boost

Bray People - - News -

THREE Wicklow based entrepreneurs have decided to take matters into their own hands with regard to ‘this recession that we are in,’ by setting up a speed-networking night on a monthly basis.

The first will take place in the Ramada Hotel on September 9 at 7 p.m.

Businesses face each other on a one to one basis and talk about their company for a minute and a half, before moving on to the next business and so on, thereby making more contacts in one evening than most businesses make in a month.

‘Business people spend a lot of time trying to make the necessary contacts to keep their businesses growing, and Speed-Networking is a proven and cost effective way of doing this,’ said a spokeswoman.

Participants will be seated in pairs when the event begins, and with each short introductory session they get to swap business cards until everyone has met each other.

After the official speed-networking event is over, the guests are invited to have a cup of coffee and continue networking.
