Hunt is on for Ire­land’s great­est grand­par­ents

THE RACE is on to find Ire­land’s great­est grand­par­ents. Friends of the El­derly with Specsavers are call­ing for nom­i­na­tions to find the ‘Great­est Grand­par­ent or Grand­par­ents in Ire­land.’

The re­sults and spon­sored prizes will be an­nounced on Grand­par­ents’ Day, which is Sun­day Septem­ber 28.

If you have a heart-warm­ing story to de­scribe your won­der­ful grand­par­ents then sent it to or­gan­is­ers now and they will get the recog­ni­tion they de­serve. Ev­ery grand­par­ent nom­i­nated will re­ceive a cer­tifi­cate of merit signed by Maire Hoc- tor, Min­is­ter of State With Re­spon­si­bil­ity for the Older Per­son and there will be great prizes for the win­ner.

Friends of the El­derly is an Ir­ish char­ity that helps to al­le­vi­ate lone­li­ness and iso­la­tion amongst the el­derly that live alone by vis­it­ing them in their homes.
