Barracuda fundraising night to aid builder’s African goal
BUILDER Tony Hall, originally from Kilbride Grove in Bray and now living in Ashford, will spend October in Lesotho, Southern Africa, taking part in a project to build and furnish schools and medical centres, and build safe houses and halfway houses for orphans.
Tony is appealing to people in the area to come along to a fundraising night in Barracuda on September 15 to help him reach his target of ¤5,000.
There will be music, dancing and a meal on offer on the night, all for just ¤ 50, two thirds of which will go to the worthy cause - the rest covering costs of the evening. ‘It’s something I’ve always wanted to do,’ said the father of three, Sarah, Laura and Karla.
He will travel as part of a group of 60 builders on October 9 and spend a month applying his skills to the Lesotho Building Project.
Although self-employed, Tony said that he doesn’t mind giving up a month of business to donate his time and ability as he has hoped to undertake a project like this for many years.
