Bar­racuda fundrais­ing night to aid builder’s African goal

BUILDER Tony Hall, orig­i­nally from Kil­bride Grove in Bray and now liv­ing in Ash­ford, will spend Oc­to­ber in Le­sotho, South­ern Africa, tak­ing part in a project to build and fur­nish schools and med­i­cal cen­tres, and build safe houses and half­way houses for or­phans.

Tony is ap­peal­ing to peo­ple in the area to come along to a fundrais­ing night in Bar­racuda on Septem­ber 15 to help him reach his tar­get of ¤5,000.

There will be mu­sic, danc­ing and a meal on of­fer on the night, all for just ¤ 50, two thirds of which will go to the wor­thy cause - the rest cov­er­ing costs of the evening. ‘It’s some­thing I’ve al­ways wanted to do,’ said the fa­ther of three, Sarah, Laura and Karla.

He will travel as part of a group of 60 builders on Oc­to­ber 9 and spend a month ap­ply­ing his skills to the Le­sotho Build­ing Project.

Al­though self-em­ployed, Tony said that he doesn’t mind giv­ing up a month of busi­ness to do­nate his time and abil­ity as he has hoped to un­der­take a project like this for many years.
