An Tóchar’s jersey day marks good year
AN TOCHAR GAA held a jersey day at the Complex in Roundwood to celebrate the clubs achievements over the past season.
With fantastic summer weather the event kicked off as the sound stage boomed the National Anthem to a standing ovation.
The An Tochar cheerleaders then took to the pitch alongside the team members from the under eights up to the senior teams as they presented the blue parade.
The team colours of An Tochar are navy blue and light blue and they were proudly displayed on each member of the parade including the teddy bear mascot.
The teams and cheerleaders paraded around the pitch to the sounds of the Artane Boys Band music.
After the parade there was a number of fun activities for parents and family to enjoy.
There was penalty shoot out games, an obstacle course, kick fada and hurling.
In the manager penalty shoot out Shay Cullen was the lucky winner of a large cuddly toy.
Kids jumped as high as they could on bouncing castles while others got creative with face painting and refreshments were served all day.
Later in the afternoon the teams of An Tochar were presented with medals and trophies for their seasons achievements by their managers.
The under eights and tens received Go Game medals and the under 12s received medals for coming second in the league.
The under 14s received trophies for winning the Shield Competition and the under 16s were presented with a cup and medals for coming second in the North East Division.
It was a fantastic day out and was an opportunity for the club to show the younger members that they have many more years open to them to play for the club.
An Tochar would also like to wish their senior ladies team the best of luck when, as reigning winners, they compete in the County Final in Aughrim this coming Sunday.
