Laragh 0-14, An Tochar 0-8: Saturday was the tenth anniversary of the death of young Laragh footballer David Cullen and the club pulled out all the stops to keep his memory alive in a way that he would have liked best – on the local playing field where he spent so much of his youth.

They linked up with neighbours An Tocher to stage a day of non-stop football involving boys and girls in all age groups

It was an outstanding success and the Laragh Club Chairman Richie Cullen wishes to thank County Chairman Andy O’Brien for attending; the An Tochar Club for their support and everyone else who helped out.

The showpiece was the final of the David Cullen Cup and that match certainly lived up to the occasion. Laragh held a narrow 0-7 to 0-5 lead at halftime against a strong An Tochar team.

In the second-half the home side continued their recent good form and ran out winners by a six-point margin to keep the cup at home for only the second time in ten years.

David’s mother Maura presented the cup to Laragh captain Tom Cullen.
