An Tóchar book place in semi-final
An Tóchar 0-13, Hollywood 0-8: An Tóchar booked their place in the semi-final of the Junior B football championship with this five points win over gutsy Hollywood in their quarter-final game last week.
The Roundwood lads had an ideal start as they raced into a threepoints lead at the start and while Hollywood showed tremendous spirit in fighting back they always drew up short in their bid to get back on terms.
An Tóchar led by 0-8 to 0-5 at the break and consolidated that lead in the second-half, with defenders Nick Nolan and Gary McGillycuddy and the evergreen Fergal Mulligan being their top performers.
Scorers for An Tóchar were: Shay Cullen ( 0- 4), Fergal Mulligan ( 0- 3), Edward Kavanagh (0-2), Joe Coleman, Noel Wolohan, Noel Power and John Carr (0-1 each).
Hollywood scorers: John Burke (0-2), Dan Burke, Pat Nugent, Philip Dunne, Hugh Baker, John O’Shea and Marty Maguire ( 0- 1 each).
