TORRENTIAL RAIN and uncontrollable floods could not dampen the spirits of one happy couple as they celebrated their marriage on Friday.

Peter Moore from Avoca and his beautiful bride Hazel Lawlor from Adamstown in Co. Wexford tied the knot in Avoca and were determined to get some wedding photos taken at The Meetings, a traditional spot chosen for pictures by newlyweds. They did not let weather conditions deter them.

The family in fact came up with the perfect solution to keep their guests entertained until the deluge subsided.

All 130 of them gathered at The Meetings pub owned by the groom’s father Peter Moore Snr while Peter and Hazel popped in and out between showers to take pictures.

Despite the fact that the water level was four feet higher than usual, the couple were not deterred and posed as close as possible to the Meeting of the Waters.

Shortly afterwards the wedding party arrived at the Arklow Bay Hotel for the reception where a great night was had by all.

Peter, son of Peter and Marion Moore, Avoca and Hazel, daughter of Rena and Martin Lawlor, Adamstown, Co. Wexford jetted off on honeymoon to Singapore and Thailand on Tuesday.
