Sky’s the limit as charity divers prepare for plunge
BRAVE JUMPERS TABLE QUIZ FUNDRAISER HELD IN HOLLAND’S
HOLLAND’S PUB played host to a charity table quiz last Tuesday night for Dive 8.
Dive 8 was set up by Bray native Laura Kearns in an effort to raise money for charity.
It was her hope that by getting a group of friends together to take an exciting sky dive they could also take the opportunity to raise funds for some very deserving charities.
And so Laura and seven of her friends have come together to take a sky dive in November for three charities, Cystic Fibrosis, CARY and Cancer Research.
Dive eight consist of Fergal Murphy, David Nutty, Lisa Curran, Adam Benson, Shane Griffin, Colin Rocket, Louise Keirwan and Laura.
The group hope to raise ¤4,200 with have of the money going to charity and the other half covering the cost of the sky dives.
The table quiz proved to be a great success with Laura’s Dad Gerry as the Table Quiz master 10 teams fought it out.
During the interval there were a number of items auctioned off from gym equipment to bottles of wine.
A phenomenal ¤800 was raised on the night which will certainly make a dent in the total needed to be raised. Dive 8 will be holding a number of fundraisers between now and the time of the sky dive and they hope to receive such great support as they did on Tuesday.
The eight divers Kevin Conroy, David Nulty, Lisa Curran, Gavin Lynch, Laura Curran, Gary Pallister, Louise Kirwan and Adam Benson.
