Support for rejection of Tesco plans

Bray People - - Council Report -

THERE WAS full support by Town Councillors last week for the rejection of the development at the Tesco site, while all were in favour for the Pizarro development to go ahead as soon as possible.

A planning application by Tesco to demolish the site on the Vevay Road and to rebuild the store that currently stands at 35,000 square feet to 135,000 square feet was rejected by Bray Town Council.

‘I’m delighted that it was rejected because Tesco didn’t communicate with anyone about it, leaving the residents of the area no choice but to reject it,’ said Councillor Collins.

Councillor Pat Vance reiterated Cllr Collins’ comment adding that he hopes Tesco will

Bríd come back with a more realistic proposal.

Cllr Vance gave his full support to the Pizarro Development.

‘ It is a wonderful development that will stop business being drained out of the town. It will include a cinema and much needed facilities such as two schools which this town needs,’ said Cllr Vance.
