Char­ity golf clas­sic to raise funds for chil­dren’s hospi­tal

THERE ARE still some slots left for the golf clas­sic tak­ing place at Wick­low Golf Club to help raise funds for Our Lady’s Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal, Crum­lin.

Wick­low Town Man­ager Michael Ni­chol­son and his wife Geral­dine have al­ready man­aged to raise ¤200,000 in just nine years and in Oc­to­ber will de­part for South Africa to take part in their tenth Cape Town 100 km Chal­lenge.

Af­ter cop­ing with a fam­ily ill­ness a num­ber of years back the pair were so im­pressed with the work car­ried out by staff at Our Lady’s Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal, they de­cided to lend a help­ing hand by rais­ing money for the hospi­tal.

The golf clas­sic takes place on Fri­day Septem­ber 19 from 8 a.m. to 3.40 p.m.

The only tee times re­main­ing are from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and it costs ¤160 per team to en­ter.

Spon­sor­ship of tees and greens would also be wel­come, and are avail­able at ¤ 100 per spon­sor.
