Charity golf classic to raise funds for children’s hospital
THERE ARE still some slots left for the golf classic taking place at Wicklow Golf Club to help raise funds for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin.
Wicklow Town Manager Michael Nicholson and his wife Geraldine have already managed to raise ¤200,000 in just nine years and in October will depart for South Africa to take part in their tenth Cape Town 100 km Challenge.
After coping with a family illness a number of years back the pair were so impressed with the work carried out by staff at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, they decided to lend a helping hand by raising money for the hospital.
The golf classic takes place on Friday September 19 from 8 a.m. to 3.40 p.m.
The only tee times remaining are from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and it costs ¤160 per team to enter.
Sponsorship of tees and greens would also be welcome, and are available at ¤ 100 per sponsor.
Anyone wishing to take part or contribute toward the classic can contact either Michael or Gail at (0404) 20100.
