South­ern Cross Road is in need of an­other tidy up. Two of the red bus shelters are eye­sores due to van­dal­ism. There is no doubt that th­ese can be ren­dered al­most van­dal proof, thus sav­ing the owner and the in­sur­ers in­volved both time and money.


Con­grat­u­la­tions to the fol­low­ing who were suc­cess­ful candidates for level one pro­fi­ciency ca­noe­ing cer­ti­fi­ca­tion,: Ruairi Flana­gan, Amy Tem­ple, Leanne Mohan, Sean Hannon, lee Hen­ley, Aye­sha Fitz­patrick, and Robyn Slater. John Glynn was the tester, and the test was from the Queen of Peace Ad­ven­ture Youth Club boathouse on Bray Seafront on Tues­day Septem­ber 2.


Last chance to en­rol for a scuba div­ing course in Jackie Skelly’s start­ing in Oc­to­ber and run­ning for six weeks. Train­ing to na­tional and in­ter­na­tional stan­dards.

The Ve­vay Ac­tive Re­tire­ment As­so­ci­a­tion (VARA) in­vites peo­ple to come along to the Villa Pacis be­side Our lady Queen of Peace Church on Fri­day morn­ing at 10.30am for Art, Mu­sic, Ta­ble Ten­nis etc. or just for a cuppa and a chat.

An Out­ing to Done­gal will take place from Oc­to­ber 13th to Oc­to­ber 18th stay­ing in the Abbey Cen­tral Ho­tel, Done­gal, 5 night Din­ner / Bed & Break­fast ¤339 per per­son shar­ing, sin­gle room sup­ple­ment ¤100.

A de­posit of ¤30 must be paid on re­serv­ing places which are lim­ited. There will be tours most days and en­ter­tain­ment most nights.
