Carnew too good for Celtic

Bray People - - Sport -

Carnew 3, Gap Celtic 0: Gap Celtic made the relatively short trip to Carnew last Sunday but returned home with nothing to show for their efforts.

They found themselves two nil down at the half time break after Niall Osbourne and John Kavanagh had put Carnew in front and after the break the home side secured the three points when Fergus Garrett dispatched his spot-kick.

Conary United 1, BBK United 3: BBK United gave one of the new teams a lesson in footballing last Sunday as they easily overcame Avoca outfit Conary United.

David Doran managed to get on the scoresheet for the losing side but it wasn’t enough to get the points, with the Brittas side netting three times.

Aughrim Rangers 1, Newtown Park Celtic 3: Newtown Park Celtic would have been hoping to get the new season off to a good start and they certainly won’t have too many complaints after three points at Rangers expense.

Aughrim’s goal proved to be nothing more than consolation against a Newtown side who should be there or thereabouts when it comes to promotion chances at the end of the season. collecting Aughrim
