Avoca 1-10, Bless­ing­ton 0-13: The draw se­quence in the Ju­nior grade con­tin­ued at Avon­dale when Ed­die Leonard’s Avoca snatched a share of the spoils with a point by vet­eran An­drew Doyle in in­jury-time.

NDI JCFC In this knock­out com­pe­ti­tion that means an­other meet­ing be­tween the sides to de­cide who makes it the semi-fi­nals. While Bless­ing­ton got the first point of the match it was Avoca that made the run­ning for most of the first-half. A goal by full-for­ward Ja­son Porter in the sixth minute gave the men from the ‘Meet­ings’ an early boost and saw them lead by 1-3 to 0-4 af­ter 15 min­utes.

That four-point mar­gin re­mained be­tween the sides up to half-time when the score stood at Avoca 1-6, Bless­ing­ton 0-5.

Bless­ing­ton got on top in the sec­ond-half and Mi­nor star Ed­die Boylan picked off three good points.

With time run­ning out the west side edged in front but there was one last kick in Avoca and great-hearted bat­tler An­drew Doyle sent over the equaliser.
