Councillor steps down from Traveller committee
CLLR. JOHN BRADY stood down from the County Wicklow Local Traveller Accommodation Consultative Committee after it emerged that he was having difficulty attending meetings, which always take place during the day.
Cllr. Caroline Burrell was nominated to take his place by both Cllrs. John Brady and John Byrne.
Cllr. Brady approached Cllr. John Byrne recently to say that he would stand down after the committee said that they weren’t happy with the attendance from Bray.
‘These meetings are always on during the day,’ said Cathaoirleach Cllr. Ciaran O’Brien.
‘Sometimes it’s not possible to attend if you are in full time work and have young children.’ Cllr. Brady said that he fully supports the committee and its work. Cllr. Burrell said that she was happy to take up the position and would make the utmost effort to attend meetings.
