Coun­cil­lor steps down from Trav­eller com­mit­tee

CLLR. JOHN BRADY stood down from the County Wick­low Lo­cal Trav­eller Ac­com­mo­da­tion Con­sul­ta­tive Com­mit­tee af­ter it emerged that he was hav­ing dif­fi­culty at­tend­ing meet­ings, which al­ways take place dur­ing the day.

Cllr. Caro­line Bur­rell was nom­i­nated to take his place by both Cllrs. John Brady and John Byrne.

Cllr. Brady ap­proached Cllr. John Byrne re­cently to say that he would stand down af­ter the com­mit­tee said that they weren’t happy with the at­ten­dance from Bray.

‘Th­ese meet­ings are al­ways on dur­ing the day,’ said Cathaoir­leach Cllr. Ciaran O’Brien.

‘Some­times it’s not pos­si­ble to at­tend if you are in full time work and have young chil­dren.’ Cllr. Brady said that he fully sup­ports the com­mit­tee and its work. Cllr. Bur­rell said that she was happy to take up the po­si­tion and would make the ut­most ef­fort to at­tend meet­ings.
