Action taken over Lauderdale parking

Bray People - - Council Report -

CALLS WERE MADE to take the remainder of Lauderdale Estate in charge, with Cllr. John Byrne explaining that residents cannot park in front of their homes and the section of lane behind around eight of the houses is in bad condition.

’It’s a dirt track,’ he said, adding that the rest of the estate has been taken in charge. ’ The engineer said after receipt of a petition that he would take sections but not the whole road.’

The Town Engineer said that this was not the case. ’That’s not factually correct. I said I would not recommend it,’ he told Cllr. Byrne. ’It’s not for me to decide. We would defer to the wishes of the members. I obviously don’t have any personal vendetta against the residents of Lauderdale.’

’ There are people who live there who have actually paid domestic rates,’ said Cllr. Byrne. ’ Surely they should have the road taken in charge and put up to the level required.’

Cllr. Byrne asked that the Lauderdale matter be put up for public consultation at the same time as Duncairn Terrace.
