Man arrested while naked and bleeding
DISTRICT COURT MEMORY ‘HAZY’ DUE TO ALCOHOL
A MAN who was arrested when naked, drunk, bleeding and standing over his pregnant girlfriend banged his head against the fridge when gardai went in to the house, it emerged at Bray District Court.
Ben Brady, 169 Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill, was sent to prison for three months, when Judge Murrough Connellan heard that he had pushed Gardai away towards a flight of steps.
Garda O’Reilly told the court that he received a call to 20A Vevay Road where Brady was shouting at his girlfriend.
Another couple had locked themselves in to a room of the house. He lunged at gardai, pushing them towards a stairs. It took six of them to arrest him, the court heard.
Brady apologised to the court for his behaviour. His solicitor Conway O’Hara said that his client’s memory of the night was very hazy due to alcohol.
His girlfriend’s father was in court with him on Thursday. Brady is a labourer by day and a barman by night.
’No doubt he uttered the same apologetic sentiments last April when he was bound to the peace and received a suspended sentence,’ remarked Judge Connellan before convicting the defendant.
