Drunk woman found unconscious in hotel
A BRAY WOMAN who was the customer of a local hotal was found unconscious in a chair having drunk so much she was a danger to herself, it emerged at Bray District Court last monday.
54-year-old Ellen Lumsden of 69 The Grove, Woodbrook Glen, was fined ¤125 for being drunk in public.
Lumsden failed to turn up to face the charge and was convicted in her absence by Judge Murrough Connellan.
Garda Glenn Quinn told the court he was called to the Royal Hotel on Main Street on August 29. Lumsden was unconscious on a chair in the hotel and when gardai tried to move her on, she was very unsteady on her feet and her speech was slurred. She was arrested and taken to Bray Garda Station.
‘I am satisfied that anyone who drinks to the point where they are unconscious is certainly a danger to themselves,’ the Judge said.
