Round­wood’s fly­ing start con­tin­ues

Round­wood FC 3, Celtic Stars 0: Round­wood are sit­ting pretty at the top of Divi­sion 2 af­ter this victory over Celtic Stars.

Both sides had come up from Divi­sion 3 last sea­son and Round­wood have made an ex­tremely good start and se­cured the points in this match thanks to a dou­ble from Luke Fer­gu­son and a Wes­ley Darcy strike.

St. Kevin’s 1, St. An­thony’s B 0: A first half strike from Brian Wind­sor was enough to se­cure all three points for St. Kevin’s at Con­way’s Field last Sun­day.

The win brings the home side up to 3rd in the league while the Kil­coole out­fit oc­cupy last place af­ter play­ing only one game.

Ark­low United B 1, Fas­sagh Row YC 0: Fas­sagh Row YC were forced to travel down to Ark­low on their de­but in the league and un­for­tu­nately it wasn’t a happy one for them, los­ing to a penalty in the 80th minute in a match de­scribed as be­ing ex­tremely tight. Ger­ard Earls will be the man tak­ing the plau­dits, keep­ing his cool to se­cure the three points from the spot.

En­niskerry YC B 0, Avon­more FC 0: With just one win be­tween th­ese two sides in the four games they had played be­fore this, a draw was al­ways a pos­si­bil­ity and that’s ex­actly what hap­pened.

Nei­ther side could break the dead­lock at Ber­ry­field Lane last Sun­day as the match fin­ished goal­less.

St. Pa­trick’s 5, Red­bank United 1: Red­bank United were once again ex­posed at the back as St. Pa­trick’s cruised to three points and smashed in five goals. The Mo­ran broth­ers were cer­tainly on form but it is Ja­son Mo­ran who has the brag­ging rights af­ter he bagged four goals, with his brother Ian only manag­ing the other one.

An­drew Carstairs con­tin­ued his fan­tas­tic early scor­ing form, grab­bing Red­bank’s con­so­la­tion.
