PREMIER DIVI­SION Ark­low Celtic A 4, Shil­le­lagh United 2: Ark­low Celtic climbed to sec­ond place in the Premier Divi­sion af­ter this hard-fought win over the cur­rent Wick­low Cup Cham­pi­ons in Celtic Park last Sun­day.

Keith Byrne and An­thony Austin both net­ted for the vis­i­tors but it ul­ti­mately wasn’t enough with Dar­ren Doyle and Brian Mo­ran both net­ting dou­bles to se­cure the three points for the Ark­low men.

En­niskerry YC A 0, Wick­low Town A 1: En­niskerry slipped to their sec­ond de­feat of the new sea­son at the hands of a much im­proved Wick­low Town last sea­son.

In­deed it was one of the play­ers who made the switch from Wick­low Rovers to Wick­low Town who scored the all im­por­tant win­ner, as for­mer Bray Wan­der­ers man Mau­rice Dunne stepped up to con­vert his side’s m87th minute penalty and send them into 4 th place in the league.

St. Peter’s Bhoys A 3, Ash­ford Rovers 1: This win for St. Peter’s Bhoys has seen them rise up to third spot while it leaves Ash­ford Rovers, pro­moted from Divi­sion 1 last year, lie fourth from bot­tom.

Danny Byrne was the man who reg­is­tered Rovers goal but it proved no match for the Bray out­fit, with Omar Taha equal­iz­ing Byrne’s ef­fort be­fore Fergie Martin and Paul O’Reilly gave the home side the win.
