TG4 focus on work of Sr. Cyril in India

Bray People - - Fundraiser In Aid Of Lesotho Project -

BRAY NATIVE Sr. Cyril Mooney is to feature in a TG4 broadcast ‘Scoil on tSolais’ - School of Light next Sunday.

The programme follows Moya Mac Eoin, a retired school tacher from Kinvara in Galway who spends her summers helping out in The Rainbow School Programme in Kolkota, India, run by Sr. Cyril.

Sr. Cyril is a Loreto nun, who last year received India’s highest civil award - the Padma Sari.

Hailed as a revolution in education, her school gives light and hope to the forgotten street children of this teeming city.

This affectionate, engaging and informative documentary journeys to Kolkata with Moya and takes us into the very heart of this inspirational school. For the first time it gives viewers an insight into how Sr. Cyril has pioneered a new approach to helping the underprivileged.

It is directed by Pranjali Bhave, a young Indian filmmaker, now living in the west of Ireland and will air next Sunday at 9.30 p.m. on TG4.
