f BAS­KET­BALL IRE­LAND in con­junc­tion with Co. Wick­low VEC Sports Pro­mo­tion Unit will be hold­ing a ba­sic In­tro­duc­tion to Bas­ket­ball Coach­ing Course on Satur­day Oc­to­ber 11 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Bal­ly­waltrim Com­mu­nity Cen­tre.

The course aims to pro­vide par­tic­i­pants with the ba­sic coach­ing skills and knowl­edge of the game. The course is aimed at those who have no coach­ing ex­pe­ri­ence or lit­tle knowl­edge of bas­ket­ball.

The em­pha­sis will be on prac­ti­cal coach­ing ac­tiv­i­ties, plan­ning, ob­serv­ing and giv­ing feed­back to play­ers. There is no for­mal as­sess­ment but par­tic­i­pants will be mon­i­tored through­out the course.

In­tro­duc­tory coach­ing cer­tifi­cates will be is­sued by Bas­ket­ball Ire­land. The cost of the course is ¤25 and the min­i­mum age of par­tic­i­pants is 15.
