PREMIER DIVISION Glenview FC 2, Richmond Rovers 3: They may only be up from Division 1 but Richmond Rovers have shown they mean business with this result.

The reigning champions certainly wouldn’t have been expecting to be on the end of a defeat but credit to Rovers, who are well and truly now an established force after some fantastic performances last year and now this.

Alan Pyke gave Richmond the lead before Darren Collopy and Jack Douglas both netted to make it advantage Glenview.

Rovers weren’t to be denied however and after Darren Lyons had equalized, Pyle popped up with approximately 15 minutes to left to score his second and more importantly the winner.

Ashford Rovers 0, Shillelagh United 3: Shillelagh secured their first win of the new season thanks to this comfortable victory over Premier Division newbie’s Ashford Rovers.

The Wicklow Cup winners secured the three points courtesy of a Paddy Byrne double as well as a strike from Bobby Keogh.

With two games played each, Rovers are still looking for their first points but it’s still early days while United have three points on the board and sit in seventh place.
