Ark­low ladies win sil­ver in row­ing cham­pi­onships

ARK­LOW ROW­ING Club over40s ladies crew won sil­ver medals in the A.I.B. All Ire­land Coastal Row­ing Cham­pi­onships, which was held in Carn­fun­nock Bay, Larne, Co Antrim on the week­end re­cently. They com­peted against the strong­est crews in Ire­land. The crew is Tilly Jor­dan, Jeanne O’Gor­man, Mary Nolan Hickey and Deirdre Magh­ery coxed by Shane Cul­len­ton.

This crew were the only crew on the East Coast to take home medals from this champi- on­ships.

Ark­low Se­nior Ladies and In­ter­me­di­ate Mens just missed out on medals both crews tak­ing fourth place. In to­tal eight crews from Ark­low Row­ing Club took part, all crews were very well placed.

Ark­low Row­ing Club is very pleased with the re­sults af­ter a very long hard sea­son. Start­ing with the Celtic Chal­lange which both the Mens and Ladies crews won, the Ladies crew mak­ing his­tory been the first Ir­ish Ladies crew to take part.
