Ballinacor 2- 13, Blessington 1-11: Ballinacor may have left it late but at Laragh recently they beat Blessington to clinch their place in the knockout stages of the Junior A football championship. ROADSTONE JAFC One of the ante-post favourites to take this title the Glenmalure men were still slow to get going and to come to terms with a strong enough Blessington team until well into the second-half.

A goal by John Molloy and points by both midfielders Fergus Daly and Paul McLoughlin had Blessington in front by 1-5 to 0-4 at half-time.

Kevin Byrne’s men got on top in the secondhalf and a goal each by midfielder Paul Cullen and Ronan Phelan sent them on their way.

The win was enough to put Ballinacor through to a semi-final meeting with Kiltegan.
