Cystic Fibrosis gets ¤27,000 cash boost
SEAN KAVANAGH and his dad Joe were delighted to present a cheque to Cystic Fibrosis Ireland last week for an amazing ¤27,000.
The father-son duo raised the enormous amount of money by taking on the challenge of a 176k tandem cycle to Cork last August, which they successfully completed to the pride of their many friends and family members, including Sean’s mum San- dra Kavanagh. They handed over the cheque last Thursday at Sean’s school, St. Cronan’s, where the staff and pupils had taken part in the fund raising drive tirelessly over the past number of months.
Brave Sean, who is just 10 years old, has CF himself and knows that the organisation can do a lot to help other children like himself to cope.
The money raised will go towards building a new four-bed unit at Crumlin Hospital for chil- dren with CF. ‘ He wanted so much to give back to our Lady’s Hospital For Sick Children in Crumlin,’ said his aunt Denise, adding that what he had achieved along with his father was a particular testament to the thoughtfulness of the Bray youngster.
