50 glorious years
JIMMY AND Anne McKenna celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage at the Esplanade Hotel last Saturday night.
The couple were surrounded by their family and friends who all joined them for a mouthwatering meal.
The large gathering included Jimmy and Anne’s five children, Adrian, Sharon, Mark, Ronan and Lisa and their families.
Also joining in the celebrations were the couple’s ten grandchildren that ranged from one-year-old Jamie to the eldest grandchild David at 23.
As a special memento Jimmy and Anne’s children made a unique menu for the meal with an original picture of the day the couple were married in September 1958.
There were also three very special guests at the meal.
Anne’s bridesmaid May was delighted to join the couple in celebrating their very happy marriage. Also joining the couple for the special occasion were Anne’s two nieces who were flower girls at the wedding, Geraldine and Marian.
Throughout the meal background music from the time of the wedding such as music from the showbands played.
The couple who are both from Bray were married on September 15, 50-yearsago at the Holy Redeemer Church.
On celebrating 50 years together to couple say that being best friends and doing things together as a couple has led to their marriage lasting the time.
To mark their 50 years of marriage, Anne and Jimmy’s children presented them with a gift of a relaxing holiday in Killarney.
Everyone had a great night and Jimmy and Anne were delighted to celebrate such a special occasion with their closest friends and family.
