Soup and sandwich
LAST YEAR’S soup and sandwich lunches held in The Presbyterian Church Hall Greystones proved themselves to be as popular as ever and were well supported throughout the season.
‘Old acquaintances were renewed, new and lasting friendships made and plenty of banter and home cooking,’ said spokesman Keith Egan. The new season starts next Tuesday. While it is not the purpose of the lunches to be a profit making project, one was realised last year, so it was decided to forward the surplus to two charities - Fields of Life and The Irish Raynaud’s & Scleroderma Society.
The Lunches are held on the first Tuesday of each month from October to May and are held in The Presbyterian Church Hall, Trafalgar Road, from 12.30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at a cost of ¤5.
The lunches usually include soup and sandwiches, home made tray bakes, tea and coffee. Mr. Egan added that St. Patrick’s Church also organise a similar lunch which is held on the third Tuesday of every month.
