The JCT got off to a winning start in their League campaign, with a 9 try win over Wesley. Pres started slowly and only the hard work of prop Kenneth Murphy kept Wesley off the score sheet. Cillean Guihen scored a wonderful solo effort against the run of play to put us ahead after 15 minutes. This seemed to settle the nerves, and from then on we were well on top. Further first half tries came Kenneth Murphy and Conor Guihen. This was quickly followed by a second Cillean Guihen score in which he beat three defenders on his way to the line. Cillean’s last play before being substituted was to put Dean Redmond in for a second try. Wesley had a brilliant chance to get on the score sheet again, but a wonderful cover tackle from the outstanding Lorcan Murphy saved the day. Lorcan then got close to getting on the scoreboard himself after a 70-yard run through the Wesley defence but a last ditch tackle from their full back stopped him just 10 yards short. Number 8, Conor Guihen got over for his second of the game picking from a 5
