Movie fans take to the red carpet
THE red carpet was out and a few paprazzi happily snapped away as movie-lovers lent their support to the premiere of the Wicklow Film Club in the Grand Hotel on Tuesday night.
Snappily dressed gents accompanied some very elegantly dressed ladies as they made their way into the hotel for a reception before taking their seats.
Proceedings got underway with a silent movie introduction in the form of ‘ Heritage’ followed by a musical interlude for drinks and food.
Then the main feature ‘You Kill Me’ with Ben Kingsley was screened. A raffle was also held on the night.
It was only appropriate that guests were rewarded for their stylish appearance and local solicitor and movie buff David Tarrant won best dressed man while Margaret Thomas picked up the award for best dressed woman. The next time the club meet up is on October 10 at 7.30 p.m. for the screening of the award winning Irish
some movie ‘The Garage’ starring Pat Shortt.
The Film Club is part of an ongoing drive to refurbish and reopen the Wicklow Community Resource Centre, also known as the old Parochial Hall.
Film Club Membership is limited to 100 so early booking is advisable. Subject to availability, members can bring along a guest at ¤8 per ticket for individual films. Contact Pat Kavanagh at The Cave crèche on High Street at (087) 277 1871 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
