SET DANCING CLASSES
Anyone interested in learning or improving their set dancing steps, come along to the Mill Room Kilcoole on any Wednesday evening at 8pm. All welcome.
Newtown bowling club have returned for the 2008/09 season, and are looking forward to a good season. This year we have two teams in the B section ,and one team in the A section of the eastcoast indoor bowling League.
The first B game is in Newtown between Newtown B1 and Newtown B2. John Green, Chairman of the League will be on hand to over see that all is above board. The A team are playing on Wednesday October 1st in Newtown. Gorey A are the visiting team.
Newtown Junior B team will have another day out in the championship, as their semi-final match against St. Pats ended in a draw, 9 points each.
The senior team had an important home win against Stratford in the league on Saturday in Newtown. The final score was 2-07 to 1-09.

We had two wins last weekend as both the firsts and youths won. Unfortunately the second team had to concede a walkover due to insufficient players been available.
The First team won away to Ashford Rovers on a 4-3 scoreline. Goalscorers were Paudie Doyle, Ciaran McGuirl, Dean Odlum and Cathal McNicholas.
The youths enjoyed a good win in the Leinster Youths Cup after a 3-2 win at home to Tullamore Town. Niall O’Brien with 2 goals and Conor Eccelston special gave us a 3-0 half time advantage.
The visitors hit back strongly in the second half with two goals as the home side hung on to the final whistle.
Fixtures for week ending Sat 4th/ Sunday 5th October are as follows: 1st Team at home to Rock Celtic at 2.30 p.m. Sunday; 2nd Team away to St.
Six games were down for decision last weekend and from these games we recorded 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.
The 8A’s continue to sparkle after a 71 home win over Wicklow Rovers. Conor O’ Toole- Odlum continued his hot goalscoring streak with four goals and there were singles for Adam Heffernan, Cian Walsh and Jack Doyle.
Equally the 8B’s are also flying after a 6-0 home win over Ashford Rovers. Daniel Testa went one better than Conor with a five goal haul while newcomer Ryan Smillie added the other goal. Man of the match for the B’s was Timothy Hamilton.
The Under 9’s lost narrowly away to St. Anthonys on a 1-nil scoreline in a game that could have gone either way. Best for the 9’s were Corey Sullivan, Sean Gregory and Alex Synnott.
Drama galore in the Under 10’s game at home to Wicklow Rovers. They found themselves a goal down inside a minute after a tremendous volley from Joe Shannon, unfortunately in the
