Arklow Town A 1, St. Peter’s Bhoys A 4: Last season’s runners-up find themselves sitting at the top of the pile after this win in Lamberton.

The Bray side will be looking to go one better than last year and on this form are certainly possible of achieving it.

Fergus Martin, Jamie Kelly, Des Kelly and Shane Byrne net- ted for the Bhoys. Craig Ledwith got Town’s goal.

Ashford Rovers 3, Newtown United A 4: A depleted Newtown United squad did just enough to see off Ashford Rovers last Sunday despite finding themselves trailing 2-0 with half an hour to go.

They showed tenacity though to fight back however and even went on to win it.

Danny Byrne, Craig Quinn and Johnny O’Connor all netted for the home side while Paudie Doyle, Ciarán McGuirl, Cathal McNicholas and Dean Odlum all scored for the visitors who finished the game with ten men.

Wicklow Town A 1, Shillelagh United 0: It may be early days but Wicklow Town certain- ly do look like they are more than capable of competing from the Premier Division.

Town have a new manager and many new players from last season and it’s thanks to one of those new players, Maurice Dunne to be precise, that they won this match as his first-half strike was enough to see off Shillelagh United.
