Bal­ly­waltrim are tops in thrilling game

Bal­ly­waltrim FC 5, St. An­thony’s B 4: Bal­ly­waltrim got their first taste of victory in the new sea­son af­ter this en­thralling game of foot­ball.

DIVI­SION 2 They didn’t pick up the three points eas­ily how­ever, find­ing them­selves 1-0 down, 2-1 down and 3-2 down dur­ing the match but fight­ing back each time to win.

Stephen Mur­phy and Tarik Taha scored two each fir the hosts as well as a Stephen Dun­woody ef­fort. An­thony’s scor­ers were Keith Reynolds, John Maguire, Ross Hack­ett and Ro­nan Lynge.

Round­wood FC 4, Ark­low Town B 4: The Vartry Grounds played host to a crack­ing game of foot­ball last Sun­day with an eight goal thriller pro­duced by th­ese two sides.

Round­wood found them­selves 3-0 up at half-time be­fore Ark­low bat­tled back to 3-3.

The vil­lage men then re­stored their lead but Town weren’t to be de­nied, and equal­ized once again.

Scor­ers for Round­wood were John Sayer (2), Luke Fer­gu­son and Robert Eyre. Ark­low’s scor­ers were Ja­son Collins ( 2), Ed­ward Dunne and Noel McDon­ald.

Ark­low United B 2, Red­bank United 1: Af­ter a good open­ing day Red­bank United haven’t been en­joy­ing the best of form as of late and that con­tin­ued last week as Ark­low United col­lected the points.

No prizes for guess­ing who get Red­bank’s goal, with Andy Carstairs al­ready ap­proach­ing dou­ble fig­ures for the sea­son.

Richard Con­roy and Alan O’Neill got the goals for the home side.

En­niskerry YC B 3, St. Pa­trick’s 1: This win has sent En­niskerry YC into the top half of the ta­ble, just one place be­hind their op­po­si­tion.

Ja­son Mo­ran got the goal for the vis­i­tors who found them­selves 1-0 down at half time thanks to Ashley McDon­agh’s goal, and that was added to in the sec­ond half by Sea­mus Bar­coe and Ger Har­vey.
