Tone too good for Glen­cor­mac

Wolfe Tone Celtic 5, Glen­cor­mac United 2: Glen­cor­mac United were well and truly knocked off their perch last week as they came up against an ex­tremely strong Wolfe Tone side.

DIVI­SION 1 Both sides went into this clash with 100 per cent records so some­thing had to give and it was the men from Kil­mac who went home un­happy.

They found them­selves 3-0 down early on be­fore Ian Devlin pulled one back. In the sec­ond half Padraig Devlin pulled an­other back but it wasn’t enough.

The goal scor­ers for the home side were Gra­ham Doyle, Stu­art Pur­cell, Lee Ivory and an Own Goal.

Aughrim Rangers A 1, St. Peter’s Bhoys 4: St. Peter’s Bhoys im­pres­sive start to the sea­son con­tin­ued last Sun­day af­ter they re­turned home from this dif­fi­cult away trip with all three points in the bag.

Shane Byrne, Adam Brack, Dar­ren McA­teer and Paul Far­rell all net­ted for the vis­i­tors and Rangers scorer was David Dil­lon.

Wick­low Rovers 1, Ark­low United A 6: Ark­low United in­flicted fur­ther mis­ery on Wick­low Rovers with this facile win.

The young Rovers side did get on the score-sheet thanks to an Own Goal while United’s scor­ers were Noel Ka­vanagh (2), David McBride, Ger Earls, Jonathan Quinn and Stephen Earls.

New­town United B v St. Fer­gal’s: Due to other com­mit­ments New­town were un­able to field a team and the points were duly awarded to the Bray side.
