150 new jobs on the way

AMIDST news of job losses na­tion­wide and in­creas­ing worry about the lo­cal econ­omy, med­i­cal com­pany Nypro has an­nounced plans to cre­ate at least 150 jobs over the next four years fol­low­ing re­de­vel­op­ment of its Bray plant.

The com­pany was es­tab­lished al­most 30 years ago and al­ready em­ploys 200 peo­ple, as well as a num­ber of lo­cal con­trac­tors.

It man­u­fac­tures de­vices for large health­care com­pa­nies, in­clud­ing Proc­ter and Gam­ble, Scher­ing Plough and Unilever, and will be­gin pro­duc­tion of a unique needle­free drug de­liv­ery de­vice later this year. The move has al­ready cre­ated 25 jobs so far.
