The programme offered classes in communications, maths, personal effectiveness, consumer awareness and computers. Over 50 members of staff took part in classes held in Arklow, Blessington, Bray, Baltinglass, Carnew and Wicklow.
On Wednesday afternoon at Wicklow Gaol County Manager Eddie Sheehy and Fiona Hartley, CEO of County Wicklow VEC presented cer- tificates to some of the participants.
The Return to Learning programme they took part in offers local authority staff the chance to return to education during working hours.
Mr. Sheehy noted that the evaluation of the programme showed conclusively that each student had developed in both skills and confidence as a result of their participation in the project. The programme gave them the opportunity to both refresh and gain new skills and knowledge.
Ms Hartley said staff and tutors at the six adult learning centre involved were delighted with the commitment of all the students and were impressed with their enthusiasm and dedication.
