OVER 15 members of the Bray community took part in a fascinating flower arranging workshop in the grounds of Festina Lente recently.

Neighbour and friend of the foundation, Ingrid Goodbody, delivered the demonstration, which focused on teaching people to arrange eye-catching bouquets using flowers and other materials from their own gardens.

She made a number of exquisite displays which were raffled off at the end of the day, leaving many of the patrons going home with a unique assortment of flora and fauna.

Ingrid, who is a horticulturist with a breathtaking garden of her own which she opens to the public, gave her time free of charge in support of Festina Lente.

The foundation which includes gardens and an equestri- an centre, provides training and workshops for marginalised individuals living in the area.

Ingrid used flowers both from the Victorian garden at Festina Lente as well as bringing some of her own materials.

‘We hope to host another event of this kind in the spring,’ said a member of staff, adding that the proceeds all to towards supporting the work done by the foundation.

She added that the 2.5 acre walled Victorian garden is only ten minutes from the centre of Bray and is open to the public.

There will be a mask-making workshop there for children at the end of the month with one of the three days already fully booked.
