Free to call road whatever they like!

Bray People - - About Greystones -

AT A recent meeting of Greystones Town Council, Cllr, Kathleen Kelleher pointed out that the practice of referring to Church Road as Main Street has started to ’creep in to the nomenclature’ of the town.

She offered a number of examples, including the address quoted as part of an advertisement in a newspaper.

While agreeing, that the road should be referred to as ’Church Road’ in its entirety, Mayor George Jones said that it has long been the practice to refer to the residential section as Church Road and the shopping section as the ’Main Street’.

’It’s a free country,’ said Cllr. Jones. ’We can’t tell people what address to put in the paper.’
