WORKS ON the R761 in the Killincarrig Cross to Bellevue Road area are to go out to tender after a presentation was made to Greystones Town Council, the members of which agreed to adopt the plans.

The design of the road improvement scheme was designed by DBFL Consulting Engineers on behalf of Wicklow County Council.

The project will provide a safer, more regulated corridor for all traffic in the area. Footpaths and roads will be provided and improved along much of the corridor, in particular Crowe Abbey Road. The scheme will also include safety improvements at junctions, including facilities for the mobility impaired.

12 submissions, mainly positive, were received during the public consultation process.

Works will include improvements to the roundabouts at Killincarrig Cross, the provision of footpaths, parking and loading bays outside the shop and pub and a signalised pedestrian crossing.
