Irish Rail ‘sorry’ for cramped carriages

Bray People - - Bray People -

IRISH RAIL admit that Wicklow commuters using the Rosslare to Dublin line had to contend with four carriages rather than usual six due to maintenance issues.

Over the last few weeks regular morning users of the service complained that it had once again been downgraded from a six carriage service to four.

This led to accusations of overcrowded carriages and customers fainting because of the packed conditions.

Now Irish Rail have apologised for the inconvenience and insist that everything is back up and running as it should be.

According to an Irish Rail spokesperson, ‘there were some issues with the Rosslare to Dublin service that would have affected Wicklow as well.

‘We had some maintenance problems and that had a knock on affect on other services as well.

‘Now everything is back up and running and the service from Wicklow to Dublin is back up to its full quota of carriages since last Monday.’
