Vic­tim stunned as phone thief hands back his sim card

A YOUNG MAN who had his mo­bile phone taken dur­ing a mug­ging was left sim­ply stunned when the thief handed him back the sim card of the phone.

Last Satur­day night at around 9.30 p.m. the man was walk­ing along the Mill Road in Grey­stones when he was ap­proached by two youths.

The two thugs de­manded money and the man’s mo­bile phone from him.

He com­plied with the thugs’ de­mands and gave­what money he had and his mo­bile phone.

The thugs took the prop­erty and in an un­usual step one of them opened the back of the phone and handed the man back his sim card.

The two are de­scribed as be­ing in their late teens.

One of the thugs is de­scribed as be­ing 5 ft 9 with black hair and was wear­ing a navy jumper and track­suit.

The sec­ond cul­prit is de­scribed as be­ing 6ft in height with blonde hair and was wear­ing a blue hoody and dark track­suit bot­toms.

Gar­daí are ask­ing any­body who may have been in the area at the time and saw some­thing or any­body who may have in­for­ma­tion to con­tact them at Grey­stones Garda sta­tion on (01) 6665800.
